Updated over 8 months ago

A skills-based job description clarifies and helps define what skills your apprentice will have to learn, based on your company’s needs.

Edit Job Description

Click Step 4: Job description.

  1. Search jobs will display if you are creating a custom apprenticeship that does not utilize one of the job titles already in Apprentix.

    1. Enter a job title to find a job description similar to the one you are creating.

    2. It doesn’t need to be an exact title or job summary match since you can edit in the following steps.

    3. Select a job title.

    4. Click Save & continue

  2. Make edits will display so you can customize your job description.

    1. Job title - displays what you wrote in Step 1.

    2. Company overview - displays what you wrote in Step 3.

    3. Job summary - displays what you wrote in Step 3.

    4. Job responsibilities - a full list will display which you can delete by clicking on the “X” button to the right and/or make edits directly inline. Any edits are automatically saved and cannot be reverted back to the original without overwriting the entire job description.

    5. Detailed example activities - depending on the job, this section may be empty or may contain only a header and not a description.

    6. Technology skills - it’s best to keep this list to no more than 5 simply to make it more probable that you’ll find an apprentice with those skills.

    7. Required Skills (Technical or Behavioral) - you can manually enter any skills you’d like.

    8. Prerequisites - displays what you entered as Minimum Requirements in Step 1. You may also add/edit/delete here.

  3. Click Generate & save posting

Note: A popup will display while the job posting is generating. If you do not see the popup, please enable popups for this website in your browser’s settings. Generating the job posting takes 10-30 seconds so be patient for it to complete. Once it’s ready, you’ll see a download link appear in the popup window. Click on that link to download the job posting.
