Apprentices may request credit for previous classroom or on-the-job experience. As an admin, you’ll need to review these requests and either approve or reject them.
Example
An apprentice submits a request for 10 hours of classroom credit for Course 101. As an admin, you decide whether to grant those hours.
Steps to Approve or Reject a Request
Go to Performance Tools > PE Credit
Click the pending request you want to review
Read the apprentice’s notes and download any uploaded files
Choose one of the following actions:
Approve – Grant credit for the request
Reject – Deny the request (apprentice will be notified)
Cancel – Cancel the request if needed
If You Approve a Request
Approval alone does not apply the credit. You must manually add the credit by entering time and/or evaluations.
In the example above: After approving the request, add 10 hours of credit to Course 101 for that apprentice.
Notify your customer support if you are a Fractional Sponsor client, so Apprentix can update the Department of Labor and issue the previous experience credit for the registered apprentice.
If You Reject a Request
The apprentice will receive an email notification that their request was rejected
In their portal, the request will display as Rejected
Apprentices may submit a new request with additional documentation, but they cannot resubmit the same rejected request.
You may want to contact the apprentice directly to provide them with an explanation or specifics on what a new request should contain.
