How can I handle courses (LMS) in Apprentix?
Updated over a week ago

We encourage Apprenticeship managers to continue using their Learning Management System for the Classroom Learning portion.

If you are using something like Trainual, you can provide a link to a specific “Topic” and a summary of what the Apprentice will learn.

If you cannot link to a specific topic, then you can link to the login page of your platform and simply provide the title and description of the lesson.

Before migrating your lessons into Apprentix’s Courses section, we encourage you to think about how you will organize the different platforms you are using. Think of Apprentix as an index for the lessons and competencies that your Apprentice will need to complete.

In the Classroom Plan, each course can link to either a “single lesson” or the “first in a group of lessons” over in your LMS.

Apprentix isn't a learning management system, but does give you some added flexibility. You can provide links to reading material, videos, or in-person instruction which are related to the apprenticeship, which you have no other reason to include or build out in your LMS.

Other questions on Using Apprentix as an LMS

Can I import SCORM files for external RTI content?

No, you cannot import SCORM files at this time.

Do you support xAPI for content import?

No, we do not.

Why can’t I add hyperlink text in the course description?

In Apprentix, you can only enter one link per course. This link can point to a single lesson Topic, Subject, Lesson, or Module in your LMS. Choose the one that makes the most sense for how you’ve organized your apprenticeship.
