Monthly Cohort Start Dates and Timeline

Learn how Apprentix monthly cohorts work. 5 contractors start each month, subs start immediately, and expedited onboarding is available.

Updated over a week ago

At Apprentix, we want to be clear about how onboarding works so you can plan your start date with confidence. Our monthly cohorts ensure that every contractor gets the attention and support they need during implementation.

How Cohorts Work

  • Start Dates: New Fractional Sponsor clients begin on the first business day of each month.

  • Capacity: We onboard only 5 paying contractors per cohort. This ensures our team can dedicate the right amount of time and resources to your setup.

  • Timeline: Standard onboarding takes 2 weeks, starting from your cohort’s first business day. By the end of that period, apprentices are fully registered and able to begin logging hours.

Why Only 5 Customers per Month?

We limit each cohort to 5 new paying customers (contractors on Pro or Premium plans) to:

  • Guarantee high-quality onboarding support

  • Ensure apprentices are registered correctly the first time

  • Keep your company on track for compliance and audit readiness

Think of it as a “reserved slot.” By planning ahead and reserving a spot in an upcoming cohort, you secure your place in line for implementation.

What About Subcontractors?

If you’re on the Premium Plan, your subcontractors do not wait for a cohort.

  • Subcontractors are started immediately.

  • We treat subcontractors as expedited by default, since they usually don’t have time to wait for the next cohort.

  • Our team has dedicated resources to get them set up quickly under your Premium Plan.

Expedited Service Option

Need to start faster than the next cohort? Our Expedited Service allows you to:

  • Choose your own start date

  • Get apprentices registered within 3 business days

  • Pay a $2,000 one-time fee

This option is often used by contractors who just learned about the apprenticeship requirement or already have crews on-site and need compliance immediately.

Why Planning Ahead Matters

Cohorts often fill up 1–2 months in advance. This happens because many project owners and investors are rushing to meet the July 4, 2026 construction deadline to maximize tax credits.

If you wait too long to reserve your spot, you may need to:

  • Delay your start until the next cohort opens, or

  • Pay for Expedited Service to avoid compliance gaps.

Quick Recap

  • Cohorts start the first business day of the month

  • 5 paying contractors per cohort (Pro or Premium)

  • Standard onboarding = 2 weeks

  • Subcontractors under Premium start immediately (dedicated expedited process)

  • Expedited Service ($2,000) available if you need to start sooner

✅ With this system, you get reliable timelines, predictable planning, and dedicated support — whether you’re planning ahead or need to move fast.
