If you decided to create a Custom apprenticeship in Step 1

Decide if you want to turn your apprenticeship into one that is federally registered

  1. Yes: Apprentix will automatically complete all the required forms on your behalf and will allow you to download those forms in a Word document format to send to the appropriate apprenticeship agency.

    1. The forms required are different than if you selected a job that is already federally registered.

    2. The process to create a new federally registered apprenticeship takes 6-12 months according to the Department of Labor.

  2. No: No further action is required since you are selecting a Custom apprenticeship.

If Yes, enter data to justify the need for this apprenticeship nationwide

  1. Estimated number of workers in this occupation nationwide

  2. Estimated number of employers using this occupation nationwide

These figures help the Department of Labor determine if there is a greater need in the economy for this occupation to become a registered apprenticeship.
